Dora didn't need any shoreleave but with her men on leave there were some things she could get on the station so picking up her shopping bag she headed out. Once at the station she headed for the shops. Slowly looking in all the windows she made her way around. She wasn't at all surprised when her two fire lizards popped out above her chripping away while telling her off. They settled on her shoulders and she calmed them both, stroking their heads. Finding a fresh food store she went in and ordered fresh meat, fruit, vegetables and a few other items to be delivered to the ship. She would enjoy doing a little cooking and she remembered how much Captain Phillips enjoyed her cooking. She'd surprise him with a homecooked meal. She was sure he'd enjoy it especially being in the brig still. She wished the Admiral and the Captain would get back to him and review his case and let him out of there soon. It looked to her that they'd just hung him out to dry. She hadn't found even one reference anywhere that they even acknowledged he was even there. It's like they had just placed him in there and forgot about him. He hadn't even been assigned council. Replicator was good and had all the nutrients one needed, but there was something about fresh food and home cooking that surpassed replicated food hands down. She also ordered fresh cubed meat for her little friends' dinner also. Leaving that store she continued her shopping and filling her bag with things she knew she would enjoy on board. She especially enjoyed the bookshop and the ice cream shop where she had the most delicious ice cream. On getting back to the ship, she picked up all her purchases that had been delivered and took everything back to her quarters and squared it all away. After getting Tic and Tac fed with some of the fresh meat and settled in for a good nap she took out her cook stove and everything she'd need to make a meal for 3. She'd cook for the brig marine on duty also. She had remembered to inform the brig she was cooking a meal for them so they wouldn't eat before she got there. "Computer, play Antosian music file 285 softly in the background." Music wafted around her sounding similiar to music found in what would have been India in the 21st century. She hummed and sang as she cooked thoroughly enjoying herself. When she was done, she packed up the meal in containers that kept hot food hot and cold food cold, picked up the bag with everything needed to serve the meals and a nice bottle of earth wine she'd found on the station. She looked around making sure she didn't forget anything and headed to the brig with enticing aromas wafting all around her. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sometimes when we are generous in small, barely detectable ways it can change someone else's life forever.
