Admirlty Meeting - Part 2 By Captain Keith Ketchum Keith arrived at 0745 the next morning, and was shown into the Admiral’s office, they had yet to arrive. He could hear them laughing as they entered the room but when they saw Keith go to attention, their demeanor turned placid. "Good Morning, Admirals.” "Morning, Captain Ketchum, at ease. Are you ready to begin”, Admiral Fenner inquired. "Yes, I believe that I am.” "Then let's get right to it, Captain. Do you understand the Temporal Directive”, Admiral Collins asked as she took a seat. "Yes, Admiral, I understand the directive.” "Yet, you did not authorize any sort of memory-erasure”, she continued. Admiral Yost asked quickly after she finished. "It is our understanding that your ship has brought back two individuals from the future time-frame.” "Yes, Admiral, it was their intention to leave that time. As for the memory erasure, that is something that I did opt not to have done, as we spent several weeks in the future, and it would have been difficult to manage.” Admiral Collins noted, "Your actions could have seriously changed the future.” "Yes, Admiral, or it could have been exactly what I would have done before, or actually, what I wouldn’t have done, as according to their history, we weren’ t even sent back.” "So you are agreeing that your return has disrupted the time-flow”, Admiral Fenner queried. "That I cannot say, Admiral, unless you want to send a ship 500 years into the future to find out. And I don't think the Avalon is up to visiting that time again.” The Admirals still didn’t appear to be happy, especially with that last comment and with how this was going, they appeared to want something, but Keith wasn ’t sure what at the moment. "Now, we do have a few questions about the incident between Commanders Skyler and Sierra”, Admiral Collins started. "Yes, about that incident, why did you place them on administrative leave”, Admiral Yost continued. "I placed them both on leave, in order to fully have the incident investigated.” "Yet, the investigator, as we have found out was romantically involved with Commander Sierra”, Admiral Fenner stated. "I trusted her obligation to duty, to put her bias for this instance behind her and give me an objective view of the situation, which I feel that she did.” Now, the Admirals were getting visibly agitated with the quick response to the inquiries they were posing. "Captain, please do not try to out think us on this, and take the inquiry lightly.” "I am not taking this lightly." "Good, you shouldn't, because your command is on the line, Captain, to be blunt and to the point." "My command, Admiral?" "Yes, it appears that your dedication to duty is over-zealous, and your abilities are... how should be say, not up for ship command, any longer." Keith blinked at that statement, unsure how to respond. "But right now, we have another appointment. So we shall see you tomorrow morning, same time, so we can continue this inquiry. Dismissed." "Of course, Admirals." Keith stood and saluted and turned and walked out, a chuck of his being left, as to how to take what was just told to him.
