atw: Word 2003 - shortcut keys for Headings Hijacked

I'm working with a new organisation - they use both Word 2002 and 2003.
I'm presently on a PC using Word 2003.
Last week my keyboard shortcuts for Heading 1, 2, 3 & 4; and other key
assignments I'd set for Image style were working. Today I can't seem to
get them to behave. I've tried to reset them again in both my custom
template and Normal template, but when I press Ctrl+Atl+2 or 3 they seem
assigned to superscript 2 and 3. And when I try to assign Ctrl+Alt+I to
Image style - the New shortcut keys field remains blank (ie. The keys I
press do not appear in the field).
Have a deadline so difficult to troll through the Austechwriter archives
at the moment. Any suggestions would be appreciated?
