The following note came my way this morning:

We currently have 2 Technical Writer positions available. One is a
permanent position, the other is a contract position. Both positions
are based in Melbourne CBD. Please see details below:
Technical Writer - permanent
*Permanent position
*Based in CBD
*Salary - up to $65-70K package (including superannuation), depending
upon skills and experience
A great opportunity exists for a Technical Writer to join this software
development company based in the CBD.
An experienced Technical Writer, this position will see you develop
documentation for in-house developed software such as software user
guides, quick reference guides and technical implementation guides.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Technical
Writing, particularly working with a software development company. You
will also have knowledge of the SDLC and previous experience working
closely with developers.
You will also require excellent communication skills (written and oral),
have a professional and pro-active approach together with strong
organisational skills and the ability to work individually as well as
part of a team. Experience with Word, Visio, Portable Document Format
(PDF), Flowchart, PowerPoint, Templates and Macros required.
Technical Writer - contract
*3 month contract
*Based in CBD
*Rate - open / no budget specified, depending upon skills and experience
This position is similar to the above, however, skills across DITA,
Photoshop and XML also required.
