Hi Jill,

XP (Windows NT 6) should ask for the disc with the printer driver / virtual
printer install files, which should be on the CD-ROM that came with the full
version of Acrobat.

(Don't forget to install the PDFWriter virtual printer driver as well, as this
is a very handy tool in its own right, with some options not offered by the
Distiller printer, in terms of creating DRAFT and other watermarks in the
documents that you make.)

If all else fails (..and remembering that this is Windows, so it usually does)
your best bet would be to simply uninstall Acrobat, restart your PC and do the
re-install yourself as the administrator to the machine.

If you are talking about a PC that you are using in a shared, corporate
environment, a likely cause of your problem is that whoever installed Acrobat
on
your machine did so under another login to yours and some of the installed
functions and features, such as the Distiller driver) are unavailable to your
user account, due to perceived licensing issues. So reinstalling Acrobat under
your login should fix things.

HTH.

Regards,

Michael Granat
