I also use the simple find/replace like Brian.
It is so easy to run it again, until 0 found, and takes care of the multiple
spaces.
Being a simple, lad I need to Keep It Simple, Stupid.

The offering that came via Mark seems overly complex.
All I ever do with such spacings is:
Press F5
Select the Replace tab
Press the space bar twice in the Find what field
Press the space bar once in the Replace with field
Press Replace all.
