Hello PJ,
Irrespective of our Politics, background in the various sciences or
philosophies. Of our Religious beliefs from Judaism to “I am a Jedi” to “yeah!
You idiots and your “imaginary Friend” to “If you do not join US, you will go
to hell” are, in MY opinion NOT relevant to this forum.
I believed that this forum was not to score points, to argue those areas, but
to:
Ø Discuss and promote understanding amongst us of the techniques we have
learnt and to share them.
Ø To vent were it has been really hard, explain the issue and get support or
sympathy from our peers.
Ø To share our expertise where each situation is different – there is no
one-size fits all. For example:
Ø How do you do an effective Procedural analysis sufficient to show you the
gaps between the present work based procedures and overlay the newly required
ones?
Ø Where and how we can understand (have access to those developing new
computer systems, legal obligations, (egg the Financial Services Reform Act,
GST) to document (paper, on-line, various procedural and training tools – too
many to mention).
Ø Sharing things that worked and did not (as this forum used to be) and asking
for advice.
Ø Taking the analysis to creating and delivering the (computer, interactive or
classroom based) solutions that best suit the situation.
Ø Doing sufficient analysis (even if free we do it for free over a certain
period), because we know and have the confidence of our previous and current
skills to KNOW that what we suggest WILL impact their business).
Ø To be able to produce a report to the business of the cost OF doing nothing,
doing the little bit they have (usually) budgeted for and doing it right.
Ø To recognise and explain such that as we are dealing with human beings and
that a well targeted, developed and NOT sloppy training program using whatever
is appropriate will massively affect their bottom line over 1 week, 1 month, 3
months, a year etc.
Ø So, I do not understand with the enormous amount we have to share and
develop why we would not focus on that? You tell me? I have a sneaking
suspicion!!
Ø I guess I am too old fashioned.
Thank you.

Wow! Christine - Rolf Witzsche even performs this in parsonical cadences
subliminally suggesting the End Times. I guess if humans can believe in the
infantile notions of orthodox religions then we can understand how they can be
sucked in by this stuff. In fact, it's quite illuminating and entertaining if
one can ignore the serious intent. This should be required viewing for
charlatan school. Lessons could be learned in how to use scientific jargon even
when you don't understand it just to give the presentation some whiff of
authenticity. Same with throwing in some Beethoven and Schiller to obliquely
associate the ruse with high art and intellect. I wonder why the Australian
Bureau of Meteorology (vilified by Tony Abbott) and various international
academies of science etc etc have not mentioned this? Too busy collaborating on
global climate change (read 'warming') conspiracy creation to notice I guess :-)
Thanks for posting :-)
Dog save us!
Cheers,
PJ

Hi Christine,
I do understand the primary purpose of this list but I’m afraid I simply don’t
see the problem with also having off-topic threads that some of us enjoy when
they’re labelled OT.
I believe we had agreement that topics were allowed to be OT and when I asked
for consensus the only person who responded directly was Nick Shears and he
said he was OK with the OT system.
So I’m not quite sure what the problem is. Do you think we shouldn’t have OT
threads at all or that the OT threads should be limited in some way
subject-wise or …?

This is supposed to be a technical and Business Writers Forum. I find it very
strange that we have so many EXPERTS in developing and utilising interactive
(procedural based support tools) for the companies we work for AND YET, within
our own, we have no-one who controls this awful mess.
It is very simple, IF you want to talk about Climate Change – this is NOT the
forum for you. There are MANY OTHER Forums WHERE YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO MAKE a
difference. Our moderator can point you in the right direction, and maybe we
want an Austech writer spin off/thread for those who would like to discuss this
issue within the confines of our conversations. Maybe the person in charge of
our website can create the threads that you may be interested in.
Honestly, from what I have read again over the last few weeks, I would employ
none of us.
This is a public forum. Most employers know this site. It is embarrassing. The
arguments etc etc are just plain ridiculous
Hi Petra, It is wonderful, But what the heck has it got to do with
austechwriter?
I give up, this is nothing to do with sharing solutions, getting jobs for
colleagues, furthering/sharing approaches.
Please UNSUBSCRIBE ME
Thank You, Best wishes

Well try this one on for size. Just when you thought you were getting a grip on
reality, that every slippery concept we all try to hang on to, along comes...

Hi all,
Can’t resist I’m afraid. I do admit to using any excuse I can get away with to
get the truth out - a Herculean endeavour beyond all imagination - so here I go
again.
It’s ironic that professor emeritus of the philosophy of theology and religious
studies, David Ray Griffin, is bringing out two books, one this month and next
month, on the subjects of climate change and 9/11 respectively, the two
specific issues that might be considered too contentious for this list.
to
Unprecedented Climate Mobilization: A Handbook for Citizens and Their
Governments
This book outlines how an approach similar to WWII mobilisation would be
effective in dealing with the issue. It was co-written with Elizabeth
Woodworth, a founding panel member of www.consensus911.org.
Bush and Cheney: How They Ruined America and the World,
The third part of this book discusses the question of whether the Bush-Cheney
attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq were really at the root of the ruination of
America and the world in general, or did the original sin lie in 9/11 itself?
Around 2003 DRG was all set to write a book about climate change, considering
it to be the most important problem facing humanity. He was waylaid, however,
by 9/11, writing 10 books on the subject before finally coming out with a book
on climate change, Unprecedented: Can Civilization Survive the CO2 Crisis?
<https://www.amazon.com/Unprecedented-Can-Civilization-Survive-Crisis/dp/0986076902>
last year (plus just now the above-mentioned). Not bad for a 77-year-old
who’s had a stroke!
Perhaps any discussion should continue off-list. You can email me at
