Janet,
Thanks for a very well organised ASTC conference. Everything from the
venue, to food and presentations, was spot on. The Trivia was the highlight
for me, much as I probably only contributed to 1-2 answers and the team
name. :)
To those who missed out this year, you should consider attending, or even
better still, submit a proposal to present. Nothing like a fresh breath of
ideas and topics to discuss.

Rhonda Bracey will be giving us advice on using Word more efficiently and
particularly Word 2016. I thought I was an efficient Word user, but now
realise that there are still ways that I can save even more time. Rhonda’s
presentation starts at 2.00pm on Friday and if you’re interested in just
this one presentation (and it’d be a pity if you were) then contact me and
we may be able to offer you a special price.
Neil James is giving us the results of his and Susan Kleimann’s research
into document evaluation and boy, when they do research, they really go
into their subject! That’s on Saturday and I’m sure you haven’t considered
evaluation as thoroughly as Neil and Susan. You can only benefit from this
presentation – apart from enjoying Neil’s presentation style.
Speaking of presentation styles, we also have Dave Gash who will give us
two presentations. Once you see and hear Dave, you’ve seen a master
presenter at work. That is not to denigrate our other presenters. They are
all stars and there’s not many ASTC conferences that I’ve been able to say
that.
There are lots of really practical presentations which can only be of
benefit to us in our Technical Communication roles.
I can’t wait to see them! It’d be great to see you there too.
