InDesign is a page layout and design platform from Adobe, first shipped in 1999. It has won a plethora of awards and, according to Nick Hodge of Adobe Systems, 'InDesign has stolen the lead from Xpress'. So. Is it a cross between Illustrator and FrameMaker? Is it an alternative to QuarkXPress but at half the price? And what is its relevance to us technical writers? Nick Hodge will tell us at the ASTC's next meeting. Date? Wednesday 27 August 2003. Time? 6pm. Where? ... Sydney Mechanics School of Arts, level 1, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney (on the museum side of Pitt Street between Park and Bathurst). Cost? ... $20.
