Hi austechies
If you have an interest in teaching writing, you might like to read on.
I have resigned my lectureship at Melbourne University, effective from the
end of this year. In order for the University to have up-to-date
informational materials ready for 2014, there is a keenness to settle on a
replacement lecturer by mid-August. This is a sessional role, requiring just
the delivery of two 2-hour lectures a week during the second semester of the
year (from late July to early December) along with assignment marking. The
lectures can held on the same day to minimise disruption to your other work.
(I have been holding them on Mondays: 2.15 to 4.15 and 5.15 to 7.15, but the
choice is up to the lecturer.) You can get some idea of the course I

obligation on the new lecturer to teach the same material (although there is
an obligation to teach what is advertised in the university handbook each
year the cut-off for which is the previous August).
I'm happy to answer questions from anyone who might be interested. I am also
happy to share some of the lecturing next year if you feel that you won't
have time to develop a complete yourself.
