Hi Craig A bit like when I was a telephone support analyst a long time ago and I got a call from someone who said their screen had gone blank and now there were numbers counting in the top left-hand corner. I replied that it sounded as though there had been some kind of power failure and it was doing its normal checks like when she turned it on in the morning. She then said "If I took the plug out - and put it back really quickly - would that do it?". I did resist the temptation to say - you weren't quick enough :) -Melanie -----Original Message----- From: Craig Bligh [mailto:Craig.Bligh@xxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, 17 July 2003 9:07 AM To: austechwriter@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [austechwriter] Re: Recall: Job Query Dave, You might be right about the distribution lists thing, but our sysadmin guy recalled the email at the server (MS Exchange server). Apparently if you email someone and they don't open the email, you can actually do a recall in Exchange. Apparently poor Melanie wasn't quick enough... This is a cancel function not a recall and as you imply only works if you're sending to a large distribution list and there's a convenient time-lag between the "Oh bugger!" and the cancel option dave ______________________________ Dave Lazzari System Administrator Laboratory Information Management TGA Laboratories Therapeutic Goods Administration ______________________________ http://www.tga.gov.au **************************************************************************** **** "Important: This transmission is intended only for the use of the addressee and may contain confidential or legally privileged information.
