I'ld love to enter the fray right now, but I have a full day tomorrow that
demands I sleep now and return to this mortalising snake-coil another day.

Just a hint about my 'mind mapping', Steve - when doctors and other
'professionals' are trained, their mentors ensure rapid uptake of
specialised knowledge by giving the students very few maps - the oxygen
cycle, the water cycle, etc. The outcome is that medicos can converse at
100mph with each other while their patients, whose willing collaboration
they seek, hear English yet understand nought.

When I was teaching Organisation Behaviour to business students, I used to
put a very wide range of mind maps in front of them so that they could find
common grounds of communication with a very wide range of audiences. But
translation between mind maps???? 'Nother can of worms/snakes.

F'rinstance, the current government has a rather normative psychological map
of interaction in the work environment - try to interrogate that map with a
social-psychological, sociological or neurological map and the converse
falls on its ar*e. Probably based on their child-like acceptance of actor
responsibility built into their legal training. Economists use a similarly
impoverished map - hence why pollies and econos get on so well - they so
completely misunderstand each other, they think they are speaking the same
lange. Pity the polity!

Night mate,
Brian.
