Why do you have to go back to MME?
Just change the input device from xxx loopback to a normal line in or mic.
Should you encounter a device error, check your sound card settings.
Start->(search box)->sound->(control Panel).
Check that recording and playback devices use the same sample rate as
your intended Audacity project rate. Wasapi works best with 44100 Hz
and 16 or 24 bit resolution.
Wasapi is by the way the only host that supports 24 bit input. The
resolution in Audacity should always stay at 32 bit, no matter what's
the sound card's setting.
