Hi David
When you select WASAPI as the host, do you happen to select something which
includes loopback as the recording device? If I do that here, nothing gets
recorded. On the other hand, if I select my mixer's mike input it works
almost flawlessly. If I speak as soon as I press Record, there is a slight
flutter on the first word, but from then on all is good. If I use Windows
Direct Sound as the host that fluttering does not occur.
I am recording through a USB mixer. I recall when WASAPI first became
available having no joy when trying to record from a line in on the
computer.
Apart from marginally improved latency, which can be adjusted for anyway, I
do not find a benefit in using WASAPI over Direct Sound, but may well be
missing something.

Subject: [audacity4blind] wasapi trubs
Howdy,
I've been having trubs with trying to record with wasapi.
Basically the track always ends up as 0 seconds no matter what input and
output device I try and use.
Anyone else had experiences like that and know how to resolve them?
Thanks so much,
David
