Hi,
there's an effect in Audacity called Vocal reduction and isolation, and
this might be able to do what you want.
After you have opened the file containing the song:
1. Press Ctrl + A to select all the audio.
2. On the Effects menu, choose Vocal reduction and isolation. You can use
first letter navigation on the menu to quickly find it. A dialog opens.
3. If you are wanting to isolate the vocals, set the actions combo box to
isolate vocals, and then press the OK button.
There are a number of additional settings in the dialog. To find out
information about them, if you press the help button in the dialog, the
appropriate page of the manual will open in a browser.
This effect was written by Robert Hänggi, who is on this list, so he may be
able to give you more help if you need it,
