[audacity4blind] professional recording on the budget plan

Hello,
I'm wondering if the above is possible. For my recording i have a
ds50 digital recorder and a laptop running audacity i think it's 1.3.7 with
jfw10. I'd like to eliminate any background noises, such as the openness of
an area, or the pops of a recorder starting or stopping. Budget limited.
