Hi Adrian
I have just found the, or at least a, solution as long as you are confident
enough. Look in:
C:\Users\adrian\AppData\Roaming\audacity folder for a file called
pluginregistry.cfg (substitute another username if applicable). Having made
a backup of the file, Open it in Notepad.
Do a search for e:\ and then arrow up once. You should be on a line that
reads something like:
[pluginregistry/Effect/base64\:RWZmZWN0X0xBRFNQQV9TdGV2ZSBIYXJyaXMgPHN0ZXZlQ
HBsdWdpbi5vcmcudWs
Select everything from that line until the line before one with similar
light reading. Delete all of that. Repeat until all references to the e
drive are removed.
I have just removed a duplicate that way. If you are not confident, send me
a copy of the file off list and I will edit.

Hi Andrew,
It shows it as e:\audacity\plugins.
I don't have a folder by that name on e drive.
Only in cprogram files \audacity\plugins.
In the manage plugins list the ones on the e drive say thet are unavailable.
It is weird but probably not worth spending too much time on..
Thanks again for your help.

That's interesting Adrian. I have a portable version within Documents and,
for that reason, get duplicates. I just tried removing an effect from the
portable copy's plugins folder and, when restarting Audacity, the duplicate
disappeared. I wonder if you still have a plugin folder lurking on your E
drive. When you have duplicates and press Enter on the effect, it should
get the path for each copy. If that happens you can track it down and
exterminate.

Subject: [audacity4blind] plugin cleanup
Hey all,
Have another question.
When I first used Audacity I just ran the portable version to make sure I
liked the program.
Well, that goes without saying now.. It's great.
My problem is that when I install the full version I still had the portable
copy on my e drive.
I found that when I go to add or remove plugins I have duplicates of some
effects that show they are disabled on the e drive..
I cannot figure out how to remove them from the list.
I know it's not a big issue but it does clutter the list up a bit.
I had removed the portable version but they still show in list.
I guess it might be a registry issue but if anyone knows an easy fix, that
would be great.
Thanks
Adrian
