Yah, I recently found that, in the preferences->interface page you can set the
recording monitor to range from -120 to 0. So, when I start a recording with no
sound and it tells me the recording level is -70 I assume that is the noise
floor.

Also, the recording monitor will tell you specifically, if the recording is
clipping.

Best,
David

Two questions regarding recording levels. Are we able to see what our noise
floor is with jaws, and how can we tell if our recording is clipping with jaws?

Hi friends,

Can we set the recording levels in audacity before starting a recording? Levels
such as reverb, echo, fade in and fade out etc?

Best,

Manoj
