Sorry about the previous empty message. I'm not sure why this happens but you may be describing artifacts that may be introducted into Mp3 recordings. Someone else may know and explain the technical reasons for the appearance of the artifact. Also, someone else may have other suggestions as to how to remove them. I can't always do so, but my method is to use the fine movement commands for slight movement if an edit has an artifact. I first use control z to undo the edit. I then move either the left or right marker using the fine movement controls and I then listen to see where the marker is. If it is in a satisfactory place, I edit again. I then listen to the edit and, if not satisfactory, I undo it again with control z, move one or both markers, and try editing again. I continue to experiment until I either solve the problem or determine that it cannot be solved. Even if it can't be solved, I can usually reduce the artifact to a quite or very soft sound in this way. My experience is that if I use a higher bit rate for recording, such artifacts are less likely to occur. If you are going to be doing very precise editing, where you have little or no room to change marker positions, use a high bit rate, perhaps the highest possible, and see if that solves the problem. You can experiment with different bit rates, of course, and try editing different recordings recorded at different bit rates if you wish.
