[audacity4blind] Where am I going wrong in my settings?

Hi all, I have a relatively new laptop. It’s a fairly low-cost one so the
specs aren’t brilliantly hi. Not very technically minded but getting to grips
with Audacity. I have made sense of recording and editing it on a single
track and now I want to move to multiple Tracks. Listening to various
recorded instructions I should be able to move one track to another just by
going up or down arrow. On my laptop for some reason I can’t do this. It does
nothing. The only way I can move from track to track is by pressing alt plus
tab. I understand by selecting each track I should be able to play two tracks
or more together. Again, for some reason this isn’t happening. Would be
grateful for some brain descrambling. Is it possible because of the low spec
of my laptop? I am using Windows 10 with NVDA. Many thanks in hopeBrian
