Hi Jane,
the option key on a mac is the equivalent of the alt key on PCs. The
keyboard layout of macbook pros may vary with versions, but on a keyboard
layout that I found there were two option keys: one two keys to the left of
spacebar and the other two keys to the right of spacebar.
