Hi Johny
To open or import more common files, such as m4a, I recommend you download
and install one more Library called FFmpeg. You'll be able to open or import
wma, m4a. even vido file.

to convert everytime in order to use in a project. Can I also use other

Yes you can. No problem with it. If you have not install the lame encoder
before, Audacity you ask you to locate it during export process.
