Hi David!
I did everything except closing and reopening the effect. Thanks again for the
info. The sliders don't seem to be worce than previously. The values aren't
announced but they do appear on the Braille-Display and update in sync with
the sliders.

Cheers! Robbie

2.1.0

Hi Robbie,
is this a VST effect?
Have you disabled the graphical user interface for VST effect?
If, not then to do so:
1. open a vst effect.
2. Press the manage button to open a menu, choose options, and a vst effect
options dialog opens.
3. uncheck the "enable graphical user interface" check box.
4. You have to close and then reopen the effect for the change to take place.
You now should have sliders to change the parameters. Unfortunately they're
not that friendly for screen readers. When you change a slider, it just reads
a percentage. The actual value of the parameter is appended to the name of the
slider. If you're using nvda you can just press insert+up arrow to read this.
If you're using Jaws you have to tab away from the slider and back again,
because if you change the slider setting and then press insert+up arrow, Jaws
reads an out of date value. This is not ideal, and hopefully can be improved
in the future,

David.

Hi David!
Thanks for these links. I can't find any info on changing the effects'
parameters though. The presets yes, but not their parameters. Except in those
effects which don't have presets. Is there a way?

Thanks! Robbie

Audacity 2.1.0 includes a limited introduction of real-time preview - where
you can change the settings of an effect during playback. More details are
given on this page of the manual:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/real_time_preview_of_effects.html

It's also covered in less detail in my Jaws guide. In the the Basic editing
section, there's a sub section on effects, and this contains a sub section on
effects with real-time preview. Here's a link to the effects section:
