It's my impression that a lot more headphones are closed backed or baffle
(spelling) as the term is, than used to be the case. I bought headphones
awhile ago at a surviving Radio Shack and they didn't have any open baffle
headphones. Also, I read in an article recently that this is the case but I
haven't attempted to verify that in any way other than my experience..

Hello Sameer,
If you have an external soundcard, you can instruct Jaws to speak
through that. If you connect headphones to your external soundcard and
instructAudacity to record using the internal soundcard, it won't pick
up Jaws unless your headphones aren't closed backed and you have the
volume up really loud. Most normal headphones bought are open backed
and the sound will spill over into the live audio track. However, if
you have studio headphones, most likely, they will be closed backed.
You can select one or the other if you are buying them new.
Very best wishes,
Sandra.

Sameer, the short answer is yes. The longer answer, especially in relation
to the screen reader, is that it depends on the sort of equipment you have.
If you only have one sound card you will probably have to select “what you
hear” or “stereo mix” as the source.
There is software better suited to recording Skype calls, some free and some
not. But, under the right circumstances, it can be done with Audacity.

Subject: [audacity4blind] RECORDING SKYPE CALLS
Hi all
Is it possible to record skypecalls with Audacity and if so, how is it done?
Can I for example control whether or not it reads my screanreader whilst
recording the skype call?
Your kind assistance will be greatly appreciated.
