Hi Cheryl

You have two options.  Firstly, pressing p will pause recording or playback.
Pressing p again will resume.  The other option is to press r to start
recording and spacebar to stop.  When you press r again, recording will
resume from where you left off, regardless of where you are on the track.

If you want to pause while taking a breath, p works well.  But if you want
to review the recording before continuing, you can safely stop the recording
and press r to resume.  Just remember that recording will resume from the
currently selected track.  Therefore, if you have more than one track, make
sure you have arrowed to the right one.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Pausing recording

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked and answered already,
but it occurs to me that there might be times that I'm recording something
and would like to pause the recording for some reason or another, then
resume recording from exactly where I left off. Does Audacity have that
aibility to pause recording in that manner? If so, how do I do that?

Cheryl
