Don't touch the 32 bit float setting, you'll run into clipping
problems while editing, I'm pretty sure.
However, you can test it of course but I doubt that the latency
variations are much influenced by this.
It's another thing with the sample rate. I use the normal 44.1 kHz.
Anything above (e.g. 96 kHz) gives a doubled CPU load.
Which host do you use for recording?

I could rich a decent level of latency correction in my Behringer USB
external sound card using Audacity and recording audio tracks, but
ocasionally, even using the same recording setup, values tend not to
suit sometimes. There's a slight anoying lac of sync between some of the
tracks. When i record the same track again, i can have it right in it's
place, sounding perfectly in sync, but sometimes that just doesn't
happen and i have to rerecord the track even without changing the
latency correction. I'm using windows 10, and have a good amount of ram
memory in my machine, about 8 gb, so memory shouldn't be a problem up to
a reasonable number of tracks. What do you think i should do to make
shure that the values of latency correction i have setup will always
work? Do you think that changing from 32 bit float to 16 bit can help?
