Hi Steve
Having just played with the Reset Configuration, a warning would not go astray.
But to your question, I suggest resetting to the default set. The user can
(didn’t) export to an xml file before resetting (I did not have many of mine
defined).

That's correct David, I recall the discussion. At that time we had multiple
users complaining loudly about the shortage of available shortcut combinations.
I thought that also included VI users that wanted to use key bindings for their
own scripts, but I could be wrong about that - either way, we ended up with the
shorter list as the default. If you wish to petition for the default to be
changed to "Full", I would support that proposal, though one detail to consider
is whether "Reset Configuration" should reset to the default set, or to the
user's chosen default set.

Hi Andrew,
I think it would be better if the full set was the default. How to set the full
set is not easily discoverable, and I worry that some keyboard users never find
the setting and give up using Audacity because of this.
My understanding is that the developers thought that having the reduced set of
shortcuts would make it easier for users to customize shortcuts as there are a
lot more unused shortcuts to choose from. Having this reduced set as the
default may be useful for mouse users, but I don't think it's useful for most
keyboard users.

Hi Steven
If you mean what I think you do - turn on all Audacity keyboard commands:
1. Press control+p to open Preferences
2. Press k to get to Keyboard
3. Tab six times to get to the Defaults button
4 Press spacebar to open options
5. Arrow down to Full and press Enter
6. Tab to ok and press Enter
Why Full is not the default is beyond me.
