The alt plus bracket and alt plus del commands are available through the
JAWS script. Well, that's my assumption as they are not available to me.
Note that left and right brackets have two slightly different functions,
depending on whether you are playing or stopped. If playing and pressing
either, you will set beginning or end of the highlight respectively and
playing will continue. If stopped a dialog opens where you can adjust the
value. That is similar to going to the lower toolbars with control-f6 and
adjusting from there. I tend to use the brackets both to adjust
highlighting and to check where I am most of the time, although the audio
position on the toolbar can be handy when recording. Back in the halcyon
days of Window-Eyes I set up user windows to read from the toolbar. I must
say I do not miss the feature very much.

Hi all,
I use both jaws & NVDA & wonder if anyone knows if NVDA can do the
following.
I use the Jaws script for audacity so I guess it is why I can do this.
Using jaws if I press left or right bracket it places the start & end
markers & then I press the alt + left or right bracket & it speaks the
marker positions.
Also using alt + DEL key reads the current position.
Does anyone know if NVDA has these shortcuts available?

Jaws seems to have a bit more accessability than NVDA.
