If she trims 5 seconds from track 2, vocals, the vocals will be ahead of the
music by 5 seconds. I've done a lot with karaoke style recording. May I
help?

Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: Help with Editing Individual Tracks

Hi Ella

Given that you are singing along with music, I am guessing that you want to
silence the first five seconds of the track rather than deleting five
seconds.  To confirm, do you want your singing to stay where it is and get
rid of noise before you come in?  If that is what you want to do:
1.  Select just the track with your voice on it by arrowing to it and
pressing Enter (the screen reader should report whether it is selected or
unselected).
2.  Select the first five seconds of the track by whatever means you prefer.
One option is to play from the start and hit x just before you start singing
and then press shift-j.  That will select to the beginning of the track.
3.  Press control-l.  That will silence that section of audio.

If I have misunderstood and you do want to delete that first five seconds,
select as described above and then press the Delete key.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Help with Editing Individual Tracks

Hi everyone, I have a question about trimming audio from an individual
track, NOT the whole file.  Here's the scenario: I load a music file into
audacity.  Then, I record a second track with me singing.  Once that's done,
I want to remove the first five seconds from the new track that I recorded.
Remember, I don't want to remove 5 seconds from the whole file, only from
the new track with my voice on it.  How on Earth can I do this?
Thanks in advance.
