David had mentioned this list when he first set it up and I completely
forgot about it. Sorry David...

Anyway, my name is Leland and I work with the other developers of Audacity.
My main goal is to make Audacity as accessible as possible. While we've
made good progress, we still have a long way to go and feedback from all of
you folks will help tremendously. So far, I've only solicited input from
David and my wife.

I should tell you that I know next to squat about audio, so if you ask how
to attenuate the frequencies between 400 and 600 Hz, I'm gonna suggest that
you use the sawtooth wave to cut it out. :-)

I'm also not a screen reader user, but my wife is and I have Hal, Window
Eyes, and Jaws installed for testing. So feel free to share your
difficulties and suggestions. We'll see if we can work out a solution.

One thing I must make clear though (and this may sound a little harsh) is
that I can only make changes that will either benefit everyone (blind or
not) or will be non-disruptive to the "sighted" (I call 'em mousers) users.
There is a very large user community that would be extremely upset if we
were to take away mousing function. (Although it would be fun for us and
very educational for them. Hehehehe)

With that said, I've skimmed through the archives and it seems there's some
need for better Label track use and a possible problem with Jaws and
selecting.

The latest experimental build of the 1.3.1 release has a rewind and fast
forward feature that someone was talking about a month or so ago.

Anyway, time for bed, but get those brain waves oscillatin' and make me work
for a change. :-)

Leland
