Hi!
You can't extract the audio from a DVD with Audacity. I use the Free Studio
suite which is accessible, to convert DVDs to audio or video files. Of course,
it only works with DVDs which aren't DRM-protected. You can find it here:

If you have a video file like avi however, you can import it with Audacity,
which will only import the audio.
