Hi Mike,
If you've got your whole cassett recorded in one track and you're happy with
the sound quality then you're well on your way. I use the arrow keys along
with space to fast forward through songs and label as I go. At the very
beginning I hit x and the recording is started and the beginning is marked. I
stop playback with space. I then hit control b and type in the song name then
enter. I then start playback and fast forward to the beginning of the next
song. I use left and right arrow to find the middle of the silence and hit x
again followed by control b and put in the song name and on and on until all
songs are labeled. Then use the export multiple option. You can add the
Metadata info here during export. Before exporting, you can go in the edit
menu and open Metadata and put in the constants such as artist and album name.
and tab to the okay button. I hope this enough to get you started. While
exporting simply hit enter each time the Metadata window pops up. I add the
numbers to the song names after export because I don't want them in the
Metadata . HTH

I’ve been trying to convert my cassette tapes with songs on them to MP3 format
with audacity. I have been trying to do this by playing the whole tape and
recording it into audacity and then using silence detection to identify and
label individual tunes. I have been having some difficulty with this and wonder
whether others have had success with this process.
