I am trying to combine 3 audio files end-to-end to create 1 composite file.
Yes, I will do some editing of the individual files before I combine them.
I open Audacity and press control-o to open files.
Audacity says select 1 or more files.
I select the 3 files and press enter.
Audacity opens the 3 files, but each file appears to be in a separate
project or instance of Audacity. I have to press alt-tab to move between
the files. I get the same result if I "Import" rather than "Open" the
files.
The first question is how do I get the 3 files into 1 project as separate
tracks. I actually had 2 of the files in a project yesterday, but I don't
know what I have done since then to mess things up.
After I finish editing the individual tracks, I think I should use "Align
End To End" in the "Tracks" menu to combine the tracks into 1. Is this the
best way to combine the files?
After I align the tracks, how can I play the finished product before I save
the file so I can determine if I need to remove any gaps where the files
join?
I appreciate any help.
