I have a vague memory that it has happened once or twice. I cannot even be
sure that Audacity was the software in question. I open Audacity several
times a day and the problem is certainly not as consistent here as what you
are getting. How very tedious for you.

Hi all,
I'm running Windows 10 Pro and using the latest Audacity 3.1.3.
I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing this phenomenon
This has happened numerous times. I'll open Audacity using a desktop icon or
by invoking it from the context menu and it starts to open but then suddenly
disappears. If I enter on the desktop icon again I get a message saying that
Audacity is already running and an okay button.
When I run task manager, there it is under background processes.
I close the process but it doesn't bring back Audacity. The only way I get
it back is to reboot my PC.
Things will go along just fine for the next dozen or so times I run Audacity
but then suddenly, out of the blue, it falls back into the background
processes again.
Thoughts?
