A serious bug has been found in the Audacity 2.4.0 which has just been
released. Pasting into an empty project causes audacity project files to be
corrupted.
Because of this, Audacity 2.4.0 is no longer available to be downloaded
from the Audacity website.
Hopefully, this problem can be fixed fairly quickly, and I'll let you know
when this has been done.
