Hi Sue,

Thanks for the info.  Here in Queensland we are still an informal body, without 
any incorporation, officers etc, so I'm not sure how much clout we can carry.  
I've CC'd this to our discussion list for everyone to see.

As for accreditation, I agree with you in that it will only be worthwhile if it 
is a national accreditation.  Any claim by ASTC(NSW) that they provide a 
national accrediation will only cause lots of controversy and fighting amongst 
tech comms people all around Australia.

I like the idea of a national ASTC.  I understand that it has been tried before 
without much success, but perhaps this time things will work out better.  In 
the Australian tech comms market, a single body makes much more sense than a 
series of unassociated state bodies.  Do you know if the West Australians have 
been contacted?  They have a members only mailing list on Yahoo!
