ETH Zurich is looking to hire a *Professor of Development Engineering. *

ETH Zurich's Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences
(D-GESS, www.gess.ethz.ch) and the Department of Mechanical and Process
Engineering (D-MAVT, www.mavt.ethz.ch) jointly invite applications for the
professorship. The successful candidate is expected to work on challenges
of people in low and middle income countries and to develop solutions to
address them. Ideally, she or he should have a background in
engineering/natural sciences and social sciences/humanities. The
candidate’s research focus could either be on a specific topic (e.g.,
health, energy, mobility) or on a methodology (e.g., user-centred product
development, automation, digitization) related to the development,
implementation, and evaluation of technologies in developing countries. The
new professor will take a central role in shaping development engineering
research and in teaching development engineering courses, educating the
future leaders of sustainable development and play an important role in the
newly established ETH for Development (ETH4D) <https://eth4d.ethz.ch/>
 initiative.
