Dear SFLers, colleagues and friends,
You may have already heard that Sydney University is proposing the
disestablishment of the Learning Centre and Maths Learning Centre, making every
member of staff (continuing and contract academic positions) in those Centres
redundant by the end of February 2021. You are probably aware of the strong
foundation of SFL scholarship upon which our resources and practice are based.
The new proposed structure for language, mathematics and learning support does
not include academic staff positions, neither research focussed or education
focussed. All provision of support and resources in this area is to be by peer
advisors, language teachers and professional staff.
Pleased sign our petition via these links to help us save the Learning Centres.
