Dear colleagues,
I have a dire concern about the draft Year 3-6 and Year 7-10 English
syllabus which are open for public review by 2nd May 2022. My first
reaction is that the draft syllabi have taken English education at least 3
decades backwards due to their removal of explicit teaching of knowledge
about language and multimodality, just to name a few.
I'm sure when you have viewed the drafts, you will share the same negative
reaction with me. Please see the draft syllabi and the response survey in

I would like to encourage you all to respond to the public review of the
two drafts for the benefits of our future generations. Your voices will be
extremely important as they will add to the volume and the views from
language experts need to be heard. The more voices, the better.
