You are invited to the Transform Tox Testing Challenge: Innovating for
Metabolism Semi-Finalists Workshop on July 8, 2016
About the Workshop: On July 8th, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA), the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) National Center for Advancing
Translational Sciences (NCATS), and the National Toxicology Program (NTP),
headquartered at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences
(NIEHS), are hosting a workshop for the semi-finalists of the Transform Tox
Testing Challenge: Innovating for Metabolism at EPA’s Research Triangle Park
campus. The workshop will bring together Stage 1 winners, agency experts, and
other leaders in the field to discuss the Tox21 and ToxCast programs, the
semi-finalist proposals, and feasible expectations for the remainder of the
challenge. Registration for the workshop is available online -

About the Challenge: EPA, NCATS and NTP have been looking for innovative
technological solutions to retrofit high-throughput screening assays to allow
both chemicals and their metabolite products to be evaluated. As you know,
scientists from EPA, NTP and NCATS have used high-throughput screening (HTS)
assays to evaluate the potential health effects of thousands of chemicals. The
Transform Tox Testing Challenge: Innovating for Metabolism is calling on
innovative thinkers to find new ways to incorporate physiological levels of
chemical metabolism into HTS assays. More information about the challenge is
available online - http://www.transformtoxtesting.com/
