(I'm responding to this particular mail and deleting the contents since
I'm not really trying to argue with the specific points. Consider it
also a reply to all of the whole Blue Origin vs. SpaceX threads.)
I see a lot of arguments which seem fueled more by people's particular
beliefs without much backup other than "the aerospace industry developed
this way", "<Company A good, company B bad or vice versa)". There's no
shortage of reasons explaining why people who have chosen to spend
(mostly) their own money have chosen unwisely. Why is it a bad thing
that there are two rather than zero companies pursuing the dream or
market of bringing down the costs of spaceflight (and there are others,
I know, but the furthest along of them, Virgin Galactic, seems to be a
way off from even developing an orbital plan)? I hope they both
succeed, and Dinospace companies either change their ways or are left in
the exhaust of the ones who succeed.
