Hello all,
Does anyone have a good resource on designing o ring seals. Specifically I am
trying to size o ring groves and choose o ring materials and sizes. All of the
resources I find give rules of thumb like 20% compression on the o ring or
similar for specific brands. I'm trying to find a good resource where I can
learn what kind of surface finish I need, common design practices, different
materials for o-rings and advantages/disadvantages, how large temperature
variations should be accounted for ect. I am pretty sure there is some textbook
or nasa document with this stuff in it, but I can't seem to find it. Thank you
