The problem isn't just bulk materials Tony. It's also cables and
connectors, water entry into electronic boxes, water soaking into (and
being retained in) insulation layers, water soaking into exposed
moving parts, water getting past seals into hydraulic and lubrication
systems...
Water can and will get into the damnedest places. And pressure
washing only worsens the problem.
