Indeed, but whilst the chems were definitely more available back then, FA &
WFNA are probably an order of magnitude more hazardous than any of the below
you’ve listed.

But it was a kinder, gentler time. I would've had NO problem buying the chems
at the chem supply place in KC. Having previously bought: NaO2, Mg, KClO3,
Yellow P, etc. They thought it was great that a kid was so interested in
chemistry.
ps: FA is not only a great hypergolic fuel with conc NA, it can also be useful
in making composite nozzles with graphite. Again, nasty stuff though.
