Brave words, and far be it from me to hold anyone to a mere hope or
intention, but what is the current thinking about the best forum or
fora for discussions about such R-Comp products?
As a general rule for all R-Comp products/service, I'd prefer direct email
to be the first point of contact for technical support.
I don't particularly like public laundry-airing, as it can be messy for
both parties. Better to deal direct with things where possible, and that
makes it easier for me to pass info on to programmers and/or deal with
cases individually.
For example, in this case, I have no idea if your (Bernard's) hang issue
is resolved as there hasn't been any specific reproducable detail
provided, unfortunately. We are certainly resolving every issue that we
can diagnose/repeat and test, so hopefully this will include your problem
too.
Direct emails generally provide a more "one to one" mechanism for
reporting and engaging in diagnotics. In this case, that's what happened
with Peter - he was able to provide us with examples privately, which we
could see could be problematic, and thus resolved.
Certainly one lockup-issue that I saw on my VRPC email setup has been
resolved, so hopefully yours has too.
That said, software development is an iterative process, so expect more
updates in due course!
Kind wishes,
Andrew
