I've just uploaded a formal release of the HDMI audio / video improvements
that have been on-going for the last few months. This new release
contains a number of fixes and improvements over the beta, so comes
strongly recommended.
I believe the code is now solid enough that it can be enjoyed by all
users, and provides a distinct improvement on all previous ROMs.
There will, in future, need to be more "front end" work done for all this,
but that will likely come in a future "SP" (disc image update). For now,
the new OS provides more accurate video, significatly better
auto-detection (EDID) and HDMI audio capabilities.
Naturally, the OS update also syncs up with all the latest ROOL
improvements as well.
On a personal note, I intend to write a longer "state of play, and request
for feedback" posting in the next few days, as January was a month full of
hectic work and frustrating illness (nothing serious). As such, I'm aware
that I'm not as "on top of things" as usual. Hopefully this OS update is
the beginning of a return to normal service :)
Best wishes to all, and please enjoy the update. You can download it from
the usual ARMX6 download site, printed inside the back cover of your ARMX6
welcome guide (also found in Docs on main disc image).
For reference, this is now the "shipping" OS, for machines I'm building
for the SW show on the 27th.
Kind wishes,
Andrew
