Gamma Delta Faithful,
Figured I would chime in here since I’m interacting with our brothers in
Memphis more frequently. Yes, that is a dated article and Pike is not
currently on campus. There were a few tough run-ins that the chapter had with
the University and law enforcement in Tucson that were tough to get past.
Fall of 2026 is the date we are “eligible” to return. That said, we will
likely need to start compiling an alumni steering committee in fall 2025 if not
a little earlier, to work with staff, and to help grease the skids with the
University. There isn’t a guaranty of our return with the University, so being
able to show we have a ready-made alumni advisory board to help a new group hit
the ground running, plus have some political / strategic conversations in the
background by prominent alumni / donors to the university can help us get where
we need to be by that time.
We’re a way’s out, but if any of you live in the old pueblo or know other Pike
alumni who are there (they don’t need to be Gamma Delta alumni), please let me
know. I know that staff would welcome your involvement.
The housing corporation still owns the Drachman house and the Foundation is
managing $250k+ across a series of endowments for Gamma Delta that will be
available to our undergraduates when we return.
