Just to expand on Broph’s comments, the hotel nightly cost of $290
includes all taxes and resort fees so it’s not as bad as it looks. I think
the only thing it doesn’t include is the cost of parking. The hotel is a
one or two year old Marriott Spring Suites which is across the street from
the ocean and super close to the Carlsbad Village that has tons of
restaurants and bars. Even closer is one of my favorite dive bars by the
name of Dini’s. It’s also walking distance to the property where Julie and
I will be hosting Thursday night’s get together. It’s not the Botelho
Estate but it will have to do.
As far as Friday golf, it will be at Aviara Golf Course which is the site
of the Kia LPGA tournament. It’s a tough track and is always in amazing
shape. For non-golfers, I’ve got plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas if
you want to spend some time on one of the best beaches around. Friday’s
dinner should also be walking distance from the hotel.
Saturday afternoon we will have a bus to take us to a couple of local
breweries on our way down to the Padres-Phillies game. Padre stadium also
offers something like 40 different beers as San Diego has built a bit of a
reputation on it’s craft beers. If you have any questions, feel free to

The Pike reunion for 2024 and #42? is set for California next April. As
you know everything is more expensive in California, we moved it to April
for the weather and Baseball. I need to know who is in and the Marriott in
Carlsbad has a deal for us at $290 a night; remember, it is California! We
can get this rate if we book 40 nights so I need to know who is coming. We
will have a welcome event at one of Harelson's ocean front properties on
Thursday night. Those interested in Golf on Friday need to let me know,
very nice course and a round of golf is $235. Yes, I wrote $235 for golf so
that would be for those serious golfers and probably not a scramble. We'll
have a nice dinner on Friday at a place TBD. Saturday afternoon we are
renting a bus for a brewery tour and the Padres Baseball at their
incredible stadium. Cost is $125 a person and food and drinks are NOT
provided. Sunday is a beach day and departure.
I need to know if you are coming, we need to get to 40 nights at the
Marriott to get this rate. Please respond if you are a go for next April
and how many hotel nights. I also need to know if you want to GOLF. I'm
looking forward to the Cats victory in the Alamo Bowl and maintaining their
#1 ranking in College Basketball. Final Four in Phoenix in 2024.
