[argyllcms] target image color space

Hello
I have a simple question - how does argyll treat the color space of a
tiff with a snaphot of a target - does it think it is in sRGB and
converts it first into linear RGB or it thinks it is already in device RGB?
This would affect process of RAW conversion for profile creation of a
digital camera.
