[argyllcms] dispcal can't find usb port in Windows7

I am attempting to use dispcal for spyder2pro in Windows7. I first run dispcal
-c to have it locate the port, but it comes back with a message
** No ports found **
When I try running dispcal -c 1 or dispcal -c 2, etc., it reports the same
message.
If I run dispcal -r it reports
dispcal: Error - No instrument at port 1
Any hints as to where to go from here?
By the way, I installed the spyder2pro2.3.5 drivers, supposedly successfully.
